God Of Revival Visuals

Simply can’t say it enough.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share some thoughts and ideas around what your team has planned for 2020. We consider it an honor and we consistently look forward to any opportunity where we get to serve your team and what God is doing through you guys. Your time and consideration are greatly appreciated.

God Of Revival

This concept keeps the same tones as the last look we did for the song, but moving to a place where the imagery is a bit more active and leans into the archival, revival imagery and photos. As I listened back through the song I couldn’t get past the driving acoustic. I thought cycling through a ton of 1920-80’s photos of our big cities and big events would be the most appropriate. Moments like the revivals but also the shuttle launch or any events where the world was watching in sync.

Resurrection Power

There is something about praise being embodied by these light textures sweeping across the screen. These light textures would also help the song move along by matching the dynamics of the song. These visuals are captured by playing back content through a projector so we may be able to use some of the revival archive footage through the projector to see if we could push any of that imagery though.

Prepare The Way

The concept for this is pretty simple. The camera moves down an old dirt road. Looking back as it travels forward. This would play into the idea of looking into the past. Then transitioning as the dynamics of song grow. We transition to facing forward and moving into the future God has for us. I thought it could work staying upside down or we could add a rotation to be right side up but moving forward. I feel like we could also add some color tinted overlays to add in some pops of color.

By Grace

In an effort to play off of some of the themes in the song, I feel like it would be appropriate to do some moody, watery textures that could really just add a touch of movement on the stage and keep everything abstract but more cohesive with the dynamics of the song.

Oh My Soul

There are so many moments in the song where I feel like adding some time remapped particles to emphasize the hits in the chorus or melody throughout the song. I also think we could do some fun stuff using knock out or negative space. By using black space, we could give several different looks to the stage. I think some abstract, organic, non-geometric particles would be best to take off the digital edge and keep things feeling worn.

Father’s House

Love the idea of playing with old footage and photos of dads with their kids and their family. Would love to mix together these like the Aimee example below. I think it would also be great to see some split frames and picture in picture moments to capitalize on the mixed media feel.

Weightless

This one feels like it needs particles floating up. But that’s a bit too simple and predictable. So I was thinking this chromatic distortion moving uppwards could reallly give us something a bit less predictible, but still organic and inspired by the tone of the song.

We Praise You

This song carries such an explosive tone to it. I feel like it could be fun to play with circles. We would still treat them to match the overall look but We could use them to build some really unique looks and the sweeping lines across the screen could definitely bring the energy needed to support the song.

Champion

Would love to really capitalize on musicality here. With having some dirty textures cycling throughout and adding some synced particle movement. I really feel like having the same stop motion texture feel fits in tight with the acoustic strumming. It will also lend to the organic look and give a softer edge to the particles.

Egypt

This song is entirely wrapped around the journey of the Israelites. So I thought it could be cool to take these huge satellite views and maps of the world and more directly middle east area and not quite go Indiana Jones but keep things as abstract as possible. I think it cold be a fun song to play with the framesizes and blocking as well. Lastly would love to play with the driving nature of the bridge and layer on the same stop motion / gif motions we have used throughout.

Let The Redeemed

Would love to approach this song with some mixed media. Not so much grunge as the first example but using different fonts and textures. I think it would also be great to use the cross in this song at the bridge or at a single point in the song where it wouldn’t be repetitive. Along with the graphics, I think this would be a great song to feature more tent revival footage.

Why We Came

This song feels like it is bigger than you and me. It’s a reminder for all creation to engage in constant praise. With this in mind I feel like it would be great to start with scrolling footage that you may or may not be able to distinguish and build it to be multiple clips covering the screen. A montage of old footage from church, nature and beyond. I feel like the footage should be moving throughout the entirety of the song. I really feel like the content needs to feel like its been moving and will continue to move after the song is done. Just like his praise will continue in motion for all eternity.
