Worthy of it All - Daystar
Thank you
We appreciate the ongoing opportunity to partner with your team in what God desires to do in the world. It has become clearer and clearer that this work is what my team and I are dedicating our lives to. The advancement of the Kingdom and the pleasure of our Lord & King. Thank you for once again entrusting us to steward the presence of God with you through the visual expression of these songs. We are honored to worship with you in this way.
Holy Spirit Come
I thought the traditional relationship between fire and the Holy Spirit could be a simple and beautiful representation of this song. We could stay on the darker and slower side during the lower-energy moments and build up to a full washout of fire whenever we get to the big moments in the song.
More Than Able
This song is challenging to illustrate with its heavy emphasis on the word of God. I was thinking that the idea of more is just the building ability. So, I thought we could do this with an ever-growing source of slow and fast central movement.
The below concepts have already been approved.
The Great I Am
Like many of the songs on this project, the songs lean more declarative anthems versus poetic symbolism to lean into. This song explicitly references dry bones, mountains, and demons running. So… I decided to go with the hills. I wanted to do something more stylized, so I pushed the footage of the clouds and mountains through a pixel sorter. This will add energy and movement toward the song's end for some more dynamic moments.
Hallelujah
This song is the opposite of the first. The verses are littered with several images that reflect nature. I felt like we could add several super 8 film styled clips for the verses and then for the chorus bring in some supporting text that can add movement and add some emphasis throughout those anthemic moments.
Holy Forever
t is difficult to visualize this song without seeing repetitive patterns or lines. The idea of building upon generations and repeating forever. It doesn’t have to be this visual but the concept felt appropriate with this theme. I also feel the sweeping lines will help build the energy throughout the song. This is another song where I can see introducing the cross if we don’t on the previous song.
No Other Name
“His praise resounds beyond the stars “ stuck in my head while listening to this song as I thought through the visuals. I can see light and stars flashing across the screen, helping build the song. As we approach the end of the song, I feel like we can introduce some textured text or even begin to introduce the cross.
Nothing Else
This song is such a minimal song. The lyrics take on this retreating, intimate, inward, stripped-back visual. This is simply what I saw. I can push these particles organically to help create subtle movement in the low moments and they will help as Michael drives home the song's climax. These textured particles will help provide consistent bokeh regardless of the angle and help build with flashes and light leaks.
Oh Lord You’re Beautiful & Worthy of it All
While listening through this song I stumbled across this effect stack. It moved so beautifully and organic I thought it fit so beautifully with “I want to take your word and shine it all around“ or “For my reward is giving glory to you“. “ I also thought the transition throughout these songs felt organic.
Overflow of Worship
Like many other songs, this song needs to show a visualization of our praise across the screens. This particle-driven look is driven by lights ghosting across the screens. It is abstract enough to be a backdrop or to contribute to the energy needed throughout the song. We can also drive the visuals by footage. So I can push a cross through like the birds in the below example.
Wash Over Me
This song is an easy one to visualize with the concept of the song. So, I used a plug-in that simulates liquids. I also would like to use some gentle flashes to help transition with the drums.
Worth
As I listen through this song, I feel we lean into some of the visuals for the cover / art direction with the open desert or field with a cross. The song is so oriented around the cross and Jesus’ sacrifice to be with us. So I feel that we should lean into that. With the cross I would like to offset the image and even drive some texture and color elements.
