BETHEL MUSIC COMP RECORDING VISUALS

Thank you

We appreciate the ongoing opportunity to partner with your team in what God desires to do in the world. It has become clearer and clearer that this work is what my team and I are dedicating our lives to. The advancement of the Kingdom and the pleasure of our Lord & King. Thank you for once again entrusting us to steward the presence of God with you through the visual expression of these songs. We are honored to worship with you in this way.

We The Church

Had so many ideas for this song. Primarily, I thought picking subjects we could Flash Cut & Timelapse would be good. Flash Cuts are a technique that focuses on a shared detail of a series of images. So, in the example below, we have a series of crosses that hold the same shape but have different information. This could be done through shared aspects of the church. Steeples, Crosses, Bibles, just to name a few. The flash cut causes the mind to view the images through their similarities. This is an undeniable characteristic of this song. In addition to the flash cut aesthetic, we will use timelapse and slow-motion footage to play on this movement through pacing in the other visual representations, along with the play on cuts and timing. I feel this would be a great song to show some negative space through silhouettes or subjects in black. This will allow for lighting to craft different looks with the LED wall.

Center

Listening to the song, I couldn't get past this visual. I tried to turn it into a GIF below, but it's much better on KLSR’s Instagram. It might be a compression thing. It is a simple cross on black, but the cross is made up of several colors and light. The light forms a cross. The flow is very organic, and this beautiful collection of all these organic patterns helps build a cross at its focal point. The verses will comprise some of these pixel clouds that would help create some contrast with some of the quick cuts from the chorus and bridge.

If The Lord

This song is this rhetorical device that feels like Psalm 150: LET EVERYTHING praise the Lord. So it's less of IF and more like a command of EVERYTHING to praise Him. I wanted to do something that felt all-inclusive. So we could easily cut through the footage represented at each stage. It is reminiscent of the Goodness of God visual we did for the Victory Tour. The goal would be to lean into this aesthetic of ALL THINGS. We would achieve this through static shots containing organic movement. Fire, water, leaves blowing, clouds, crowds, etc. It also reminds me of a song we did at our church that carries the same heart. YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL

Praise Chorus

This song continues the vertical focus as has been mentioned in several of the conversations. I kept feeling drawn to waves and the ocean. Every time we would hit the down beat on the chorus keep seeing waves crashing the rocks. So I took some waves and processed them through some turbulence and then softened it all to give us some organic movement and color variance. I can see pushing horizontal movement during the verses and then vertical movement in the choruses.

Full of Glory

This song feels like a timeless hymn to me. In addition, I felt this beautiful draw to ALL the scripture in this. So I thought that by going with this same flashcut, we could invert the colors so it felt more subtle and then cut through actual scriptures. My wife and I have started collecting Bibles, so I thought it could be fitting to gather images of different scriptures from different Bibles and utilize the different versions to provide a lyrical, timeless, and scriptural surround to the song.

Behold the Lamb

Listening to this song, I couldn’t get past the cross and the veil. I wanted to play on these two ideas. During the verses, sticking to the fabric/veil, and then during the choruses, moving back to close-ups and hero shots of the cross. Leaning on John 12:32 If I be lifted up. I will draw all men unto me. It feels perfect with Easter approaching as a very clear song that centers around the gospel.

Additional Songs

The above were identified songs. Another song was HE’S THE ONE. We also discussed hitting 2 additional visuals. Overall, I have been feeling a lot of fluid, organic movement on this project. Even listening through HE’S THE ONE. I felt myself swaying to the song. SO I prepped the below three visuals. I thought we could definitely lean on the monolith and create a brighter take. Underneath the 3 are additional visuals I feel might be a good fit for the album.
